Whether you are a beginner or have been going to the “gym” for a long time, it is simply impossible to stand aside from the dozens of new trends in fitness. There are so many of them that not everyone can tell at a glance how the bodyflex differs from the shaping. If that Monday you decided to go to the gym, has finally arrived, or you decided to try something new, we will tell you how not to get lost in the fitness world and choose the right direction.
Fitness is what makes us healthier, stronger and more resilient. Something that, in exchange for a hard workout, gives beauty, an attractive body, discipline and a good mood. With the exception of “iron” exercises from the field of powerlifting, workouts of various fitness trends are often conducted in group classes and with music, so a charge of vigor and positive emotions is guaranteed.
Types of fitness can be divided into several categories
- Strength training programs (bodybuilding, powerlifting, cycling) – aimed at increasing strength, muscle mass and building body relief.
Perfect for those who have decided to work on their body seriously. It will be difficult, but the result in these sports is the most visible to the eye: the body not only acquires noticeable proportions and gains muscle, but also becomes stronger. Among the “jocks” there are many girls, and if you look at Miss and Mr. Universes, and Schwarzenegger has always been an idol – go ahead, pump some iron!
- aerobic exercise (aerobics, step, bosu, aqua aerobics) – “dance” workout for muscle tone and weight loss, which are available to people with any fitness.
If you feel that you are in good physical shape, or for medical reasons can not do something heavy, aerobic exercise – it is for you. They give you a boost of energy and vigor, which fits perfectly into your morning or afternoon exercise routine. Exercises on a step or bosu (an exercise machine in the form of a half-sphere), squats and dancing elements with light dumbbells, energetic movements – in general, everything that keeps you in shape and helps you control your body weight. Exercise while you relax!
The dance direction (zumba, pole-dance, strip-plastique, belly-dance, body-ballet) – work on the posture, plasticity, flexibility, sexy curves of the body.
Dancing (especially Latin American) has gained enormous popularity around the world. Zumba, body-ballet, and pole-dance are variations of well-known dance styles with an emphasis on sports. During these trainings you can kill two birds with one stone: keep your body in excellent physical shape and develop the skill of relaxation in dance. But pole-dance is not as easy as it seems – to climb the pylon and perform on it, you will need great strength. And that is what you need.
- Body&Mind (yoga, aerial yoga, stretching, qigong) – Aimed at harmonization of body and mind, body flexibility, breathing, coordination and balance, stretching and strengthening muscles.
Ommmm… Can you feel it? It’s your mind and body merging into one. No, it’s unlikely you’ll learn to levitate (although there’s talk that Indian yogis can do it), but you’ll learn some secrets of your own mind and body. If anyone thinks that wellness styles are just lying and sitting on mats in different poses, they are definitely mistaken.
- Health fitness (Pilates, shaping, gymnastics, fitball) – exercises with the weight of your own body that do not overload the spine and joints.
These areas combine sets of exercises aimed at improving body flexibility, strengthening both the body as a whole and individual muscle groups. As a rule, exercises are held in a relaxed rhythm, movements are smooth and flow into each other. Pilates, for example, is characterized by elements of stretching and isometric exercises. For fitness aerobics, there are smooth rolls on the ball, which have their health-improving mission to the skeleton and spinal muscles. These routines would also work as a post-injury sport – they’re great for recovery.
- Aquatics (swimming, aqua yoga, aqua boxing) – general body strengthening, working on stamina, breathing, skin health and fighting excess weight.
Swimming is unique. It is recognized as one of the safest, since it is virtually impossible to get injured in the water. However, training in the pool is complex: depending on the direction you choose you can develop great stamina, strength, learn to breathe deeply and “stretch” arms, back and abs well … Gentle workout – aqua yoga and other – promote the most organic regeneration of the body and rehabilitation after injury. The pool is also a good place to lose weight, because you can lose kilos in an hour or two, it is so energy demanding swimming.
